AEC To Supply GMC Yukon And Sierra For The European Market
AEC, one of the main importers of American cars in Europe, will also deliver the GMC Yukon and Sierra to the region. The Sierra is still interesting now, but that will change.
With this, AEC is expanding its General Motors range considerably in one fell swoop, after it had already brought a very extensive range of American Stellantis brands – Dodge and Ram – to Europe much earlier.
AEC is not primarily concerned with individual import on behalf of customers but acts as an importer. It supplies American cars of all kinds of brands to European dealers and traders and offers European customers the opportunity to order such a car as if it were done at the official brand dealer. For example, the Yukon is simply available in different colours. It is striking that it still seems to be the ‘old’ Yukon, from before the recent facelift that you see in the last two photos.
For the time being, it seems to always be the ultra-luxurious Denali version, powered by a 6.2-liter V8 with 425 hp. Anyone who wants to enjoy real American excess one more time is in the right place with the current fleet of giga-SUVs from GM. Ford and Jeep only have six-cylinders in this segment, so for a full-size SUV with a V8 you are dependent on Chevrolet, GMC or Cadillac.
Up until now, the pick-up, which can be driven as a company car, has been the answer to that problem. Good news for entrepreneurs: the Sierra, a pick-up based on the Chevrolet Silverado that competes with the Ram 1500, is also available and equipped with the 6.2. It is available at AEC as a Denali or AT4, a somewhat rougher version. Up until now, these types of cars have been exempt from bpm for entrepreneurs, but that will change as of January 1. From next year, buyers will pay €66.91 per gram of theoretical CO2 emissions, which in the case of the GMC Sierra Denali amounts to €25,292, which you do not pay now. Painful, although the bpm for a comparable passenger car is still higher.
