Bosch Suspends Operations In Russia Over Alleged Use Of Its Parts In Military Vehicles Invading Ukraine
Supplier Bosch suspends operations in Russia after Ukraine claimed its parts were found in Military Vehicles.
Ukraine said Bosch components were found in Russian infantry vehicles invading the country.
The issue are dual-use automotive products, which can be used for both military and civilian vehicles.
The components were restricted by the EU after Russia annexed the Ukrainian region of Crimea in 2014.
The company said that any of its parts were not supplied directly to the manufacturer of the military vehicles.
Bosch, the world’s largest automotive supplier, employs about 3,500 people in Russia at three locations.
German Automotive Supplier Robert Bosch GmbH, commonly known as Bosch, says it is curtailing its operations in Russia amid signs that its parts may have been used for “non-civilian” purposes in violation of its policies.
In a statement, the Stuttgart-based supplier said it has halted deliveries of truck components to Russian customers, pending an investigation into how the parts are being deployed.

The move comes after Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on Sunday that Ukraine had found Bosch parts in Russian military vehicles.
“We take the Ukrainian foreign minister’s allegations very seriously and immediately initiated an intensive investigation,” Bosch said, adding that any parts were not supplied directly to the manufacturer of the military vehicles.
Germany’s economy ministry has also launched an investigation into whether Bosch violated an export ban on goods that can be used for both civilian and military purposes.
Bosch, the world’s largest automotive supplier, employs about 3,500 people in Russia at three locations. Last year, Bosch generated sales of 1.2 billion euros ($1.32 billion) in Russia.
