In an effort to intensify safety on highways and inner roads, the Lagos State Government mapped out major roads where tricycles (Keke NAPEP) and motorcycles (Okada) are restricted from plying in the state.

Due to the ban on bikes and keke,  Danfo drivers upgraded the cost of transportation around Lagos for no reason. This proves how greedy most Nigerians can be, and how some people love taking advantage of peoples misfortunes.

For each major route, a calculation on how much an individual will spend just on transportation were made. This calculation is based on the five working days in a week. It is further calculated for the whole working days in a year (261 working days)

1. Ikotun – Ikeja

Ikotun to ikeja = ₦300 X 261 working days

Ikeja to ikotun = ₦300 X 261 working days

Total Cost in a year = ₦156,600

2. Ikotun – Obalende

Ikotun – obalende = ₦800 x 261 working days

Obalende to ikotun = ₦700 x 261 working days (sometimes fare can be ₦800 based on timing)





Total Cost in a year = ₦391,500

3. Ikotun – Oshodi

Ikotun to oshodi = ₦250 x 261 working days

Oshodi to ikotun = ₦250 x 261 working days

Total Cost in a year = ₦130,500

4. Egbeda – Oshodi

Egbeda to oshodi = ₦300 x 261 working days

Oshoodi to egbeda = ₦250 x 261 working days

Total Cost in a year = ₦143,550

5. Egbeda – Ikeja

Egbeda to ikeja = ₦200 x 261 working days (sometimes its ₦200 depending on traffic or crowd i.e if danfo drivers see large crowd waiting for buses the higher the money)

Ikeja to egbeda = ₦200 x 261 working days (sometimes ₦150 or ₦250 due to timing or rain )

Total Cost in a year = ₦104,400

6. Iyana ipaja – Yaba

Iyana ipaja – yaba = ₦400 x 261 working days

Yaba to Iyana ipaja = ₦350 x 261 working days

Total Cost in a year = ₦195,750

7. Iyana Ipaja – Ikeja

Iyana ipaja to ikeja = ₦250 x 261 working days (sometimes 200)

Ikeja to Iyana ipaja = ₦200 x 261 working days

8. Iyana Ipaja – Oshodi

Iyana ipaja to oshodi = ₦300 x 261 working days (sometimes 250)

Oshodi to Iyana ipaja = ₦200 x 261 working days

NOTE: This prices are based on rush hour.
Places with high foot traffic were not added. Most people living in Mushin find their way to Oshodi when going to the Island . Oshodi is the Link between Lagos Island and Lagos Mainland.
