Euro NCAP Awards Mercedes-Benz CLA The “Best Performer” For Being The ‘Safest Car Tested’ In 2025

Euro NCAP awards Mercedes-Benz CLA the “Best Performer” for being the ‘Safest Car Tested’ in 2025.
CLA achieved standout score in the four areas of active and passive safety tested by Euro NCAP.
It follows in the footsteps of the E‑Class, which topped the overall safety score of cars tested in 2024 to win “Best Performer”.
Other top performers are Tesla Model 3 (Large Family Car), Smart #5 (Large SUV), Tesla Model Y (Small SUV), MINI Cooper E (City & Supermini) and Polestar 3 (Executive Car).
The Euro New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP) has awarded the all-new electric Mercedes‑Benz CLA the “Best Performer” of 2025 for topping the overall safety score of cars tested last year.
The all-new electric CLA not only led the “Small Family Cars” category but also achieved standout score in the four areas of active and passive safety tested by Euro NCAP.
“Mercedes has a long-standing belief in investing in vehicle safety, so it feels appropriate for the CLA to earn the title of 2025’s Best Performer, as well as Best Small Family Car,” said Dr. Michiel van Ratingen, Secretary General Euro NCAP.
In the four areas of active and passive safety tested by Euro NCAP experts, the CLA achieved a standout score of 94% in Adult Occupant Protection, 89% in Child Occupant Protection, 93% in Vulnerable Road User Protection and 85% in Safety Assist Technologies.
“We have redesigned the CLA from the ground up. This also includes development or the safety features that are part of Mercedes’ DNA,” said Jörg Burzer, who is responsible for Development & Procurement and Chief Technology Officer.
The latest CLA follows in the footsteps of the Mercedes‑Benz E‑Class ultra-luxury sedan, which topped the overall safety score of cars tested by NCAP in 2024 to win “Best Performer”.
Other ‘Best in Class’ winners (safest models tested by NCAP in 2025) includes Tesla Model 3 (Large Family Car), Smart #5 (Large SUV), Tesla Model Y (Small SUV), MINI Cooper E (City & Supermini) and Polestar 3 (Executive Car).
