Ford To End Production Of The Focus By November This End
This year, one of the most important cars on the European market will be discontinued. This vehicle is the Ford Focus, whose production ends in November.
In an email to Motor 1, Ford’s European communications manager, Finn Thomasen, announced that Focus production will end in November. Unfortunately, there are no plans for a direct successor.
Ford’s PR tells us that customers can still specify the new Focus, but with production nearing the end of production at the Saarlouis plant in Germany, it won’t be long before the order books close. After that, you’ll be limited to what’s left in the inventory.
Why is Ford dropping the Focus from its lineup? CEO Jim Farley says:
We are getting out of the boring car business and into the legendary vehicle business.
In an interview last year, the company’s boss admitted that cars like the Fiesta and Mondeo were loved by many customers, but the harsh reality was that Ford wasn’t making enough money to justify future investment. Apparently, the Focus fit that picture.
