Kia PV5 Passenger Exceeds WLTP Range, Reaching 420 km in World’s Largest Independent EV Test
The Kia PV5 Passenger demonstrated high real-world efficiency and consistent charging performance in the summer NAF El Prix test – the world’s largest independent test of electric vehicles, conducted by the Norwegian Automobile Association (NAF) and Norwegian automotive media Motor.
The PV5 Passenger, with a long-range battery with a capacity of 71.2 kWh, offers a range of up to 412 km (WLTP). In a test in Norway, which took place on a predetermined route, it traveled 420 km from a full charge to empty, exceeding the homologated range in real driving conditions. It recorded an average energy consumption of 13.8 kWh/100 km, which places it among the top five vehicles in the family category of the test.
The PV5 Passenger is based on Kia’s E-GMP.S platform and supports AC charging of 11 kW and DC fast charging of 150 kW. In the test, the battery was charged from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes, which is in line with official data and confirms the practicality of the vehicle for everyday use.
The NAF El Prix test, held twice a year, in winter and summer, tests electric vehicles under the same real driving and charging conditions. All vehicles are tested on the same day to ensure comparable conditions, including a standardized cabin temperature of 20°C. The results provide users with reliable and comparable data on range and charging performance.
As part of Kia’s PBV strategy, the PV5 Passenger combines a flexible interior design with space, connectivity and a level of comfort suitable for private and business use. Based on the E-GMP.S platform, the vehicle offers class-leading interior space, easy handling and effective sound insulation.
The five-seat version is available with a 51.5 kWh battery for standard range or 71.2 kWh for extended range.
The PV5 Passenger can also be ordered in a seven-seat version, with production starting on July 15, 2026.
