Skoda Union Rejects Wage Freeze Plan
The union of employees at the Czech company Skoda Auto, which operates within the German automobile concern Volkswagen, has rejected a proposal to freeze salaries until 2030, as well as the possibility of abolishing bonuses, Reuters reports.
The president of the OS KOVO union, Jaroslav Povšik, said at a meeting with union members that employees would not accept a salary freeze or the abolition of bonuses, Reuters reported.
Volkswagen plans to freeze salaries for around 660,000 employees worldwide until 2030, the group’s works council said earlier this week, confirming previous media reports about cost-cutting plans.
