BMW Is Bringing The V8 Back In Another Model
BMW presented the current generation of the 7 Series on the European market without the V8 engine version. The engine was omitted due to high CO₂ emissions and Euro 7 standards. But it seems that BMW has changed its strategy, and the V8 engine will return to the European market, writes the BMW Blog.
The engine is already known 4.4 liter V8 with 570 HP. The V8-powered M760 xDrive does not come with hybrid technology in the US. This differs from, for example, the BMW M5 and XM models, where the V8 engine is combined with an electric drive in the US and Europe. With the new M760, the emphasis is on a large petrol engine that powers the car in combination with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive.
Along with the M760 xDrive, the range of the 7 Series with a V8 engine could be completed by another model. BMW Alpina has confirmed that the first model of that brand with a V8 engine will be the 7 Series, writes the BMW Blog.
