FRSC To Impound Vehicles With Unregistered Number Plates From Monday
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun division to impound vehicles with unregistered number plates from monday.
FRSC said the operation would be carried out in conjunction with the police, the Ogun’s TRACE and the Vehicles Inspection Office.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State says it will begin to impound vehicles and motorcycles plying the roads with unregistered and unauthorised number plates from Monday.
The Federal agency, whose statutory functions also includes designing and producing the driver’s license to be used by various categories of vehicle operators, stated that the operation would be carried out in conjunction with sister security agencies.
A statement by CC Ahmed Umar, the Ogun State Sector Commander, reads in part :
“Pursuant to the primary role played by the FRSC in advancing national security through rigorous intelligence, it has been observed that many motorists go about with unauthorised or unregistered vehicles.
“Therefore there will be a joint special enforcement with the police, the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps and the Vehicles Inspection Office to checkmate erring motorists,’’ he stated.
The State Sector Commander enjoined motorists and motorcycle operators to always go through appropriate authorities to register their vehicles.
