One of the suggested quick fixes is toothpaste. The small particles are supposed to smooth out surface scratches. But only in theory… ADAC explains that many toothpastes contain too coarse particles that would only further damage the car’s paint. Also, nail polish is almost useless because it comes off quickly. These include primarily a scratch pen (you can choose one that matches your vehicle’s colour), car polish, repair kits that usually contain two different polishes, a sanding cloth, and a polishing cloth. If you don’t want to pay for a service, you can repair small scratches yourself.
