“Hand over passenger’s verification to e-ticketing firm,” Amaechi orders Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).
Amaechi gave the order after his meeting with the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, ICRC.
He said company in charge of E-ticketing will match faces on IDs of passengers, & NIN for identity confirmation.
The Minister of Transportation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has directed the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to hand over passengers’ verification to the technology firm in charge of E-ticketing on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line.
Amaechi gave the order after his meeting with the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, ICRC, where the body presented Full Business Case Certificates, FBC, for the Lagos- Ibadan and Itakpe-Warri E-Ticketing service to him.

Revealing the development via his official social media handle, he wrote :
“To effectively put an end to ticket racketeering, I’ve directed the Nigerian Railway Corporation to hand over the verification of passengers to the company in charge of E-ticketing on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line. They’ll match faces on IDs of passengers, & NIN for identity confirmation”.
