It Is Very Dangerous : FRSC Shares Photos Of Apprehended Vehicles Overloaded With Goods And People - autojosh

It’s unsafe and dangerous : FRSC shares photos of apprehended vehicles overloaded with people and goods.

Urge drivers to always separate goods from passengers by ensuring every occupant sits securely inside the vehicle.

FRSC had earlier warned that overloading attracts a fine of Ten Thousand Naira only (₦10,000.00).

As part of its ‘War Against Overloading’, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has shared photos of apprehended vehicles overloaded with people and goods to warn the motoring public that the act is not only unsafe, but utterly dangerous.

In a statement, the Agency urged drivers to always separate goods from passengers by ensuring every occupant sits securely inside the vehicle and not hanging or sitting at the top of the vehicle as seen in the photos shared.

On vehicle overloading, FRSC noted that exceeding a vehicle’s payload capacity will not only make it less stable and more difficult to steer buy also increases the risk of tyre bursts and reduces braking efficiency. FRSC had earlier warned that overloading attracts a fine of Ten Thousand Naira only (₦10,000.00).

“These pictures of dangerous overloading and mix loading are a stark reminder of the dangers of vehicle overloading and mixing of passengers with goods.”

“Carrying human beings alongside heavy loads not only exposes them to extreme risk but also destabilizes the vehicle, making it difficult for the driver to maintain proper control.”

“In the event of sudden braking, swerving, or a crash, lives can be lost instantly because passengers seated on top of the vehicle or clinging to unsafe positions are completely unprotected.”

“Sadly, many have been injured and killed as a result of this reckless act, hence the urgent need for everyone to desist from such practices. Safety should never be compromised for profit or convenience.”

“We urge motorists, transport operators, and passengers to desist from this unsafe practice. Vehicles are designed with specific capacities, and exceeding those limits places everyone on the road in danger. Overloading accelerates wear and tear on the vehicle, increases the risk of tire bursts, and reduces braking efficiency.”

“Let us always remember: no journey is worth a life lost. Choose safety first, avoid overloading, separate goods from passengers, and ensure every occupant sits securely inside the vehicle.”
