The BMW XM has finally arrived in the South African lucrative market, nearly a year since the German brand introduced the high-performance SUV that debuted last year as its most powerful car.

The BMW XM first made its public debut in South Africa last year during the largest-ever BMW M Fest held between 15-16 October at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Midrand in South Africa.
BMW M is targeting three regions, including the United States, where it said that the demand for the XM has been very massive, though the automaker also expects strong sales in China and the Middle East.
Speaking on those targeted to buy the BMW XM SUV, CEO Franciscus (Frank) van Meel, said :
“A lot of people who drive a Lamborghini Urus or Mercedes G-Class say, ‘I want to have something like that from BMW,’ and so for us, it was the logical choice,” said van Meel.
Timo Resch, the Vice President of Customer, Brand, and Sales for BMW’s M division, also admitted that the XM will not attract existing M car owners but existing owners of Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga, and Land Rover Range Rover.
While the base XM starts at $159,000 (about N243 Million in Nigeria) in the United States, the more powerful Label Red model carries a sticker price of over $185,000.
