NADDC Boss In Talks With Firm For The Production Of Locally-made Solar-powered Tractors

NADDC Boss Jelani in talks with firm for the production of locally-made solar-powered tractors.
He said that the locally tractors would be made available to Nigerian Farmers at a subsidised rate.
The move, according to the NADDC boss, will promote food productionand sufficiency in the country.
Jelani sought the collaboration with the firm during the Electric vehicle Innovation Summit in Abu Dhabi, held from 23rd to 25th May, 2022.
The summit brought together researches, engineers, Govt. officials, and EV related companies from around the world.
They explore and discuss the technical, policy and market achievements and potentials in e mobility.
The Director General of National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Jelani Aliyu, has began talks with an automobile firm that produces solar-powered agricultural tractors with a view to collaborate in the production of locally made tractors.
According to Aliyu, the locally tractors would be made available to Nigerian Farmers at a subsidised rate in order to cost-effectively promote food production and sufficiency in the nation.
The clean, quiet and zero-emission solar-powered tractors will surely be a good alternative to diesel-powered ones, as Automotive Gas Oil, popularly known as diesel, currently sells for over N545 in some fuel stations in Nigeria.
The NADDC boss sought the collaboration with the firm during the Electric vehicle Innovation Summit (EVIS) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), which held from 23rd to 25th May, 2022.
The summit brought together researchers, engineers, government officials, and EV-related companies and institutions from around the world to explore and discuss the technical, policy and market achievements andpotentials in e-mobility.
At the summit, Mr Aliyu, who participated as a Panelist during the summit, discussed the Nigerian current achievements in the automotive industry, including its strong potential in the sector across the African continent.
