NDLEA Recovers Drugs Hidden Inside Jeep Wrangler, Honda Ridgeline At Tincan Seaport Lagos
NDLEA recovers drugs concealed in speakers packed inside Jeep Wrangler, Honda Ridgeline at Tincan Seaport Lagos.
The Wrangler, Ridgeline were part of four used vehicles in a container coming from Toronto via Montreal, Canada.
Reacting to the seizure and other arrests of the past week, NDLEA Chairman commended the efforts of all officers of MMIA, NAIA and Tincan.
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Friday 3rd March 2023 recovered 244 parcels of Canadian Loud (a variant of cannabis also known as Indian hemp) weighing 79 kilograms at the Tincan seaport, Lagos.
The drugs were concealed in medium size wooden sound system speakers packed inside two out of four used vehicles in a container marked CRSU9258348 coming from Toronto via Montreal, Canada.
The imported vehicles used as cover for the drugs are a 2009 Jeep Wrangler SUV and a 2009 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck, according to a press release by Femi Babafemi, Director, the Media and Advocacy NDLEA Headquarters.
Reacting to the seizure and other arrests of the past week, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) commended the officers of MMIA, NAIA, Tincan, Taraba, Adamawa, Plateau, Osun and Lagos Commands as well as DOGI for their efforts.
Mohamed Buba Marwa charged them and their counterparts across the country to intensify the ongoing mop up operations to deny political thugs access to illicit substances ahead of the Governorship and House of Assembly elections this weekend.
