The Inspector General of Police (IGP)

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) is the highest-ranking officer in the Nigeria Police.

A n IGP is appointed by the president. The president can also sack him. The IGP is usually appointed on a four-year term. He must leave office and the president will appoint another person to replace him at the expiration of his tenure expires – or in the event that he is sacked.
