A Metropolitan Police officer turned heads after being spotted driving a Ferrari Monza SP2 through the streets of West London, after the £3.2 million supercar was reportedly seized at a supercar meetup on Saturday over a lack of insurance and a valid driving licence.

In a video posted to Topspotz’s Instagram page, the police officer was seen driving the £3.2 million limited-edition Ferrari through Mayfair, accompanied by a police convoy. The ultra-exclusive supercar is one of just 499 examples produced.

One of dozens of luxury cars seized by the Met Police and the Motor Insurers’ Bureau over insurance and other offences, this particular supercar was shipped from Saudi Arabia, with its seizure coming just hours after it arrived in the UK.

As expected, the video quickly gained attention on social media, with one user joking that the police officer “definitely took the longer route to the station lol,” while another remarked, “That is the pinnacle of his career.”

Two other users jokingly commented, “That is the pinnacle of his career,” while another said, “Best day at work ever for that guy.” Both comments drew several likes from other users.

Another user remarked, “This must be the only time a seized car has actually been driven to the depot rather than towed.” It remains unclear why the Met Police chose to drive the Ferrari to the depot instead of using the tow truck that Autojosh spotted in the footage at the time of the seizure.
