Covid-19 : Osun Gov’s Wife Gives Motorcycle And Tricycle Riders Free Fuel, Face Masks

Osun Gov’s wife Mrs Kafayat Oyetola gives out free fuel and masks to motorcycle/tricycle riders to help support them amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Wife of Osun State Governor, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, has given out free fuel to selected commercial motorcyclists and tricyclists to help mitigate the harsh impact of lockdown on their businesses.
The beneficiaries, popularly known as okada riders, were drawn from the association of motorcyclists and tricycle riders known as OSCOMORON in the state.
As part of her efforts to prevent spread of coronavirus in the state, Mrs Oyetola, who is the President, IleriOluwa Development Initiatives, also gave out face masks to the riders.
According to the Coordinator of the event, Comrade Tijani Sikiru, the beneficiaries were selected through local government chapters of their association.
Comrade Tijani Sikiru said :
“The free fuel from the governor’s wife is meant to support the riders. The gesture will be extended to more beneficiaries in other local governments in the state.”
“About 350 beneficiaries were recorded in both Iragbiji and Ikirun. About 200 benefited in Ede town, while thousands have received free facemasks.”
In addition to the free fuel and masks, the riders also received food items, including noodles, beans, rice among other.
Reacting to the kind gesture, President of the Association of Motorcyclist and Tricyclist Riders in the state, Gbenga Ajenifunija; assured of maximum support of members in ensuring compliance with all safety protocols to prevent spread of coronavirus.
