“Porsche Wants To Shift Some Production To The United States.”
Porsche is considering moving parts of its car assembly process to the United States. The German sports car manufacturer hopes to soften the impact of US President Donald Trump’s 25 percent import duties on cars, insiders told Bloomberg.
Porsche, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, is planning to shift certain final assembly processes from Germany to the U.S. This move will include tasks such as installing interior parts and mounting tires. Additionally, other strategic measures are being evaluated. Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume has confirmed that all options are firmly on the table.
Porsche currently does not manufacture vehicles in the United States, which makes the company susceptible to tariffs. A spokesperson for the automaker informed Bloomberg that there are no plans for production in the U.S. at this time.
