Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Lagos Test Drive The Rolls-Royce Cullinan With AutoJosh, Media Partners
Back in 2019, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Lagos, the exclusive franchise representative of the British luxury automobile marque, launched the Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV into the Nigerian market.
Named after the largest gem-quality diamond ever found, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is the first ever Sport Utility Vehicle to be produced from Goodwood in United Kingdom – the house of Rolls-Royce. It is also the most luxurious SUV money can buy.
To give select media partners a ‘feel’ of the 2021 model of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Lagos from Coscharis Motors Plc recently organised a Ride and Drive event around the luxury apartments by Azuri Towers at the Eko Development City right beside the Atlantic Ocean on a Saturday morning with all the trappings of the beautiful landscape within the city.
The event, which took place on Saturday August 28th, 2021, had select Automotive journalists in attendance, including Nigeria’s authoritative car blog, AutoJosh.

While welcoming the team before setting out for the drive, Abiona Babarinde, the General Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Coscharis Group gave the background behind the choice of location for the activation. In his words, “the choice of this location is to give you the smooth drive a Rolls-Royce Cullinan will deliver for you effortlessly on all the different road terrains you can imagine. Right here, you will enjoy the drive on a smooth road and sandy areas on the beach side that gives you both the on and off road capabilities of the Cullinan within an environment like what we have at this Eko Development City here in Lagos”.
To deliver the “Ride and Drive” concept, this was anchored by Tolu Gbadamosi, the Business Manager, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Lagos who showcased the unique selling propositions of the Cullinan by driving each of the media partners on different routes / terrains after when the media team equally drove the vehicle to have the ‘feel’ to deliver the total experience.
The most memorable part of the event was the opportunity to actually feel and drive the Cullinan. During the test drive, we experienced a whisper quiet cabin as its 563 horsepower twin-turbo 6.75-liter V-12 engine powered the three-tons Rolls-Royce Cullinan along the paved and unpaved roads around the city. The ultra-luxury British-made Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV will accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 5 seconds and top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
Furthermore, Tolu Gbadamosi gave us a tour of the uniquely crafted 2021 Rolls-Royce Cullinan which we test drove. Before stepping into the SUV, we were welcomed with a gold Spirit of Ecstasy, 22 inch shadow wheels as well as a two-tone silver satin bonnet finish on arctic white body paint. As we opened the signature coach doors, we were wowed by the hotspur red and black interior with piano black veneer wood finish that has matching umbrellas, starlight headliner that consist of about 1,200 fibre optic stars, bespoke one-of-a-kind sound system, electric rear curtains as well as 360° cameras that ensure you don’t lose touch with your surrounding.
