Swedish brand Volvo teases upcoming EM90, its electric Premium MPV ahead of November 12th debut.
Pre-order for the EM90 MPV will start for customers in China on the same date, according to Volvo.
EM90 will likely rival Lexus LM and the Zeekr 009 – two models that are already available in the Chinese market.

Volvo Cars has just teased an upcoming EM90 model, the Swedish brand first electric premium multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) ahead of its global debut on 12 November 2023.
Pre-order will start for customers in China on the same date, according to Volvo, adding that additional details such as the battery-pack, trims and price will follow in the coming months.
“Imagine a moving space where you can just be you. A place where you can connect with your loved ones, create, relax, work or just think”, Volvo said in the teaser.

“The Volvo EM90 is our first ever fully electric premium MPV, and is designed for you to make the most of the time spent in the car, like a Scandinavian living room on the move. The new EM90 doesn’t just allow you to travel from A to B – it creates room for your life.”
The Volvo EM90 will likely rival premium MPVs like the recently revealed 2024 Lexus LM and the Zeekr 009 – two models that are already available in the lucrative Chinese market.
Still on the premium Zeekr 009 MPV…

The upcoming Volvo EM90 Electric Premium MPV will likely be mechanically based on the Zeekr-badged 009 as both Zeekr and Volvo are owned by Geely, the Chinese automotive giant that also controls Lotus and Polestar.
While Volvo is still mute on the price and range, the Zeekr 009 electric minivan starts at around $73,700 while its 116.0-kWh battery-pack allows 436 miles. The higher-end model with 140.0-kWh battery-pack (510 miles) has a starting price of $86,800.
