Watch : Canoe Transports Vehicles In The Convoy Of Nigeria’s First Class Chief Across A River
Canoe transports vehicles in the convoy of Nigeria’s first class chief, Saleh Mohammed, the “Mai Kaltungo”, across a river.
Security details seen loading vehicles in his convoy in the canoe, including a Lexus with customized “HRH Mai Kaltungo” plate.
This mode of transportation to connect to neighboring towns is due to poor state of the roads and lack of linkages.

“Mai Kaltungo”, Engineer Saleh Mohammed Umar, recently took part in an important event in a neighboring state, which required using a canoe to transport the vehicles in his convoy across a body of water.
Engineer Saleh Muhammad, a first class chief in Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State, also serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Gombe State Council of Emirs and Chiefs.

For this trip, his security details were seen loading vehicles in his convoy in the canoe, including his official vehicle, a Lexus LX 570 SUV fitted with customized “HRH Mai Kaltungo” plate number, and the lead car, a Toyota Tundra pickup truck.
As seen in the video shared, which has now gone viral, this dangerous cruise across the river is the only mode of transportation to connect to neighboring towns due to poor state of the roads and lack of linkages.

In a related article, Autojosh shared a video showing personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) ‘without Life Jackets on’ using an unstable boat to transport their patrol vehicle across a body of water.
Then, we explained that ferries form a part of the public transport systems of many waterside areas in Nigeria, especially in Lagos, Gombe and Benue State. But due to bad roads and lack of linkages, transportation of vehicles across the river is very common in Benue and Gombe.
