$5 million Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear becomes the fastest production car at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed.

Completed the 1.16-mile Hillclimb in 47.14 secs, smashing previous record held by the Czinger 21C by a whole 1.68 secs.

First unveiled late last month, the new Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear celebrated its public debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. 

Limiting to just 30 units, the Sadair’s Spear was instantly sold upon its private unveiling despite starting at $5 million.

The all-new Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear hypercar has become the fastest production car at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed after completing the 1.16-mile hillclimb in 47.14 seconds during the Timed Shootout on Sunday.

Piloted by Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh, the Sadair’s Spear in full attack mode smashes the previous record for road-legal production cars held by the 1,250-horsepower Czinger 21C by a whole 1.68 seconds.

First unveiled a couple of weeks ago, the all-new Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear celebrated its public debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed before conquering the Hill Climb during its first-ever driving event.

Named after Jesko von Koenigsegg’s favourite racehorse, the track-focused 1,675-hp hypercar is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine, which delivers an output of 1,300-hp on regular unleaded fuel and up to 1,625-hp when running on eco-friendly ethanol-rich E85 fuel.

During initial shake-down tests at Gotland Ring, the Swedish manufacturer of high-performance sports cars said Sadair’s Spear shattered the previous lap record set by the Jesko Attack by an impressive 1.1 seconds.

The Swedish manufacturer of high-performance sports cars is limiting Sadair’s Spear production to just 30 units and despite a reported purchase price north of $5 million, all examples was instantly sold upon its private unveiling.
