Torsus Praetorian “World’s Toughest School Bus” is ready to take kids and even adults to hard-to-reach places around the world.
This heavy-duty off-road school bus is capable of climbing up mountains and crossing raging rivers.
It boasts 15.7 inches of ground clearance, and the ability to cross water over two feet (35.4 inches) deep.
Czech Republic-based firm Torsus – makers of the world’s toughest minivan – has unveiled the Praetorian School Bus that is “intended for the toughest school run routes in the world.”
Dubbed the “World’s Toughest School Bus“, the boxy off-road vehicle is a revised version of its PRAETORIAN. It is designed to conquer the most challenging and hard-to-reach places around the world.
Just like the Praetorian, the “all-terrain, four-wheel drive school bus is based on MAN chassis. This heavy-duty off-road school bus is capable of climbing up mountains and crossing raging rivers. It boasts 15.7 inches of ground clearance, and the ability to cross water over two feet (35.4 inches) deep.
The Praetorian also rides on an upgraded Michelin off-road tyres for better grip in rough terrain and comes in either right- or left-hand drive.
Inside, the school bus comes with durable new seatings with various math and science formulas that will sit up to 35 kids.
Powering it is a 6.9-liter six-cylinder diesel churning out 240 horsepower. Top speed is electronically limited to just 72 miles per hour (117 kilometers per hour).
Pricing for the off-road school bus hasn’t been announced, but the standard Praetorian starts at roughly $181,000 (N69 million) without any equipment inside. This price excludes the destination and clearing costs in Nigeria.
