Genesis Launches 2022 G70 Shooting Brake For The European Market (Photos)
What else can we say about this brand? They are the upcoming luxury brand to date that are serious in competing with the Germans and they are gaining momentum. After some months when Genesis unveiled the facelifted G70, they have added a wagon to the mix or what they call Shooting Brake. Well, This model will only be available in Europe as the brand made a grand entry to the continent with this and other models in its lineup.
With the Audi A4 Avant, BMW 3-Series Touring and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate in its sights, the 2021 G70 Shooting Brake has identical dimensions to the sedan. It is 184.4 in long, 72.8 in wide and 55.1 in tall, and has a 111.6 in long wheelbase. The redesigned rear end and the longer roof have opened up more boot space, with the automaker claiming that the luggage area is 40 percent larger than that of the sedan. Moreover, owners will be able to haul some big items thanks to the 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats.
From the side, we’re digging the single-piece glass hatch with a floating integrated spoiler giving it a more athletic attitude. Genesis didn’t say what’s under the hood, but it’s fair to assume the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 252 horsepower with either RWD or AWD will be offered. Less certain is the optional 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 that delivers 365 hp. All models will be mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission
As for the interior, it’s still the one used in the sedan and it features all the equipment and comfort packages. The Genesis G70 Shooting Brake will be available for sale in the summer with the UK, Switzerland and Germany the 1st European countries to get it along with other models.
