Two Dead After Nio EV Falls From Third Floor Of Automakers HQ In Shanghai During Test Drive
Two test drivers dead after Nio Electric Vehicle falls from third floor of headquarters building in Shanghai during test drive.
Nio said that the testing staff included one of its employees and a technician from one of its partners.
It added that it has started an investigation into the incident in co-operation with government officials.

Two test drivers at China’s electric vehicle manufacturer NIO were killed on Wednesday after a car they were driving in fell from the third floor of its headquarters in Shanghai, China.
The third floor of the automakers headquarters in Shanghai from where the car fell has been variously described as a showroom, a testing facility or a car park.

Confirming the incident, Nio said that the testing staff included one of its employees and a technician from one of its partners. It added that it has started an investigation into the incident in co-operation with government officials, according to a statement by the Chinese brand.
“Our company has collaborated with public security department to launch the investigation and analysis of the cause of the accident.

“Based on the analysis of the situation at the scene, we can initially confirm that this was an accident (not caused by the vehicle),”
“We feel very sad about this accident and would like to express our deepest condolences to our colleague and partner employee who lost their lives. A team has been set up to help the families,” the company said in a statement.
