SVH Unveils China’s Version Of ‘Tundra’ Called ‘Tundar’, Should Toyota Be Worried?

Tundar takes inspiration from Toyota’s pickup, from its distinctive Front Grille design to the its tailgate’s name.
Toyota won’t be too worried about the Tundar mini truck, which starts at $6,000 and has a naturally-aspirated 1.0-liter engine.
In comparison, Tundra, priced between $35,950 and $57,690, comes has 389 horsepower 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6.
And Toyota Tundra goes head-to-head with heavy-duty trucks like Ram 1500, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and the Ford F-150.

Chinese’s manufacturer Sino Vehicle Hub Co. (SVH) has released its own version of Toyota’s latest-gen Tundra pickup truck named the ‘Tundar‘ and it is scheduled to go on sale later this year.
The Tundar mini truck clearly takes inspiration from the popular Toyota heavy-duty pickup truck, from the Tundra’s distinctive Front Grille design and front/rear lights to its tailgate’s name, that shameless retained ‘Tundra’.

The mini rides, which starts at $6,000, rides on 13-inch wheels and features a minuscule naturally-aspirated 1.0-liter engine borrowed from Isuzu. In comparison, the Tundra, priced between $35,950 and $57,690, comes standard with 18-inch wheels and gets a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, producing 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.

The little comparisons done so far shows that the Tundar isn’t a rival to the popular Toyota Tundra, which goes head-to-head with American-made full-sized pickup trucks like the Ram 1500, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and the Ford F-150, the later being the best-selling truck in the US – so Autojosh thinks Toyota won’t be too worried about the Tundar mini truck.
