Back in 2012, two 2013 model year stretched Jaguar XJ ‘Semi-State’ limousines created by Jaguar authorized coachbuilder, Wilcox Limousines, joined the official fleet of British Royal Family that already includes two Bentley State limousines worth £10 million each.
Painted in masons black over royal burgundy and fitted with bonnet mascot and roof flag, the two limos, with number plates NGN 1 and NGN 2, are used on less formal occasions or as support vehicles on more formal occasions.

The XJ ‘Semi-State’ limousines will likely be armored like the Jaguar XJ Sentinel, which is a high security version of Long Wheelbase XJ introduced at the 2010 Moscow Motor Show and designed to provide protection against 15 kg TNT or equivalent explosive.
Presumably, the 2012 Jaguar XJ semi-state limousines will use the 5.0 L supercharged V8 engine shared with the XJ Supersport having a power output of 510 PS (375 kW) and 19-inch wheels with Dunlop Self Supporting Technology run-flat tyres.
