Volkswagen Teases Golf R 333 Limited Model Ahead Of May 31st Launch
Volkswagen has teased a limited version of the Golf R called R 333 in a flashy golden hue ahead of the car’s official reveal on May 31. From all indications, this may be the very last ICE variant of the model as the next-gen model would be fully electric.
The short teaser doesn’t feature a ton of specifics, but it does give us a good look at some of the adjustments VW made. The gold paint is the most obvious addition, looking far more sophisticated than the select hues on offer for Golf R buyers. A bespoke graphics package also runs along the bottom of the doors, matching the black mirror caps on either flank. We can also see that the Golf R 333 Limited Edition will have 19-inch black wheels and an Akrapovic exhaust system.
Powering the hot hatch is a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine that outputs 333 PS which translates to 329 hp (and 310 pound-feet of torque). As you’ll probably agree, ‘333’ has more ring to it than ‘329.’ A 6-speed manual or a dual-clutch transmission could be used but until the launch date, Volkswagen hasn’t provided any information on that department.
Volkswagen will also make a series of alterations to the interior of the Golf R 333 Limited Edition. These will probably include some special badges or graphics as well as some colorful accents to match the yellow and blue of the exterior.
