The Koenigsegg Regera has reclaimed its crown from the Rimac Nevera after completing the 0-249-0 mph (0-400-0 km/h) run in a blistering 28.81 seconds at the Orebro Airport Runway near the Swedish capital of Stockholm.

Regera’s new record bettered Rimac Nevera’s time of 29.94 seconds set at a test track in northern Germany last month. With the new run, the Regera improved its previous record of 31.49 second set in 2019 at the Rada airfield in Sweden by a full 2.68 second.

For this record attempt, the Koenigsegg Nevera was fitted with new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres while the record-breaking run took place along a “smoother track compared to previous record runs”.

The Koenigsegg Regera set the following times below, all of which were measured and verified by RACELOGIC:

  • 0-250-0 mph: 29.6 seconds
  • 0-250 mph: 21.35 seconds
  • 250-0 mph 8.25 seconds
  • 0-400-0 kph: 28.81 seconds
  • 0-400 kph: 20.68 seconds

“This specific record is one that means a lot to Koenigsegg as it’s a record that covers every aspect of extreme performance”, said Koenigsegg boss, Christian von Koenigsegg.

“The fact that the Regera can still surprise and amaze the automotive world after all this time is a testament not only to its timeless design, but to engineering and technology that was way ahead of the curve.

“It’s something that makes me extremely proud, and as the Jesko customer cars are being delivered, we can’t wait to show you what’s next”.

The 1,500-horsepower Regera uses a biturbo 5.0-liter V8 engine plus a trio of electric motors, which enables a 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) sprint in only 2.8 seconds before maxing out at more than 250 mph (400 kph).
