All-new long wheelbase BMW 5 Series 5, i5 electric for China arrives with many exclusive features, including 32-inch TV.
More than two million units of the BMW 5 Series have been delivered since the start of local production in China.
Between 2020 to 2022, some 530,000 cars were sold to customers in the People’s Republic of China.
Chinese lucrative automotive market has received yet another exclusive fast-selling model with the unveiling of the Extended Wheelbase version of all-new BMW 5 Series Sedan and the all-electric BMW i5.
While the Chinese market variants may look like the standard 8th-generation 5 Series models on the outside, the Long Wheelbase 5 Series and i5 models different itself with an illuminated number “5″ on the C-pillar.
Inside, these exclusive LWB variants, like the non-China models, still gets the large iDrive powered Curved Display, a flat-bottom steering wheels, a 4-zone automatic climate control as well as model logo embossed into the headrests.
But rear passengers will get not only enough legroom but also an exclusive 31.5-inch screen. The BMW Theatre Screen, first seen in the range-topping 7 Series, has an 8K resolution and a 5G connection to power multiple streaming services.
BMW notes that :
“In combination with the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System, the ‘BMW Theatre Screen’ transforms the rear of the new BMW 5 Series Sedan and the new BMW i5 into a private cinema on wheels.”
The Chinese market exclusive BMW 5 Series and all-electric i5 models will be produced at the Dadong plant operated in Shenyang by BMW’s Chinese joint venture, BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. (BBA).
More than two million units of the “world’s most successful business sedan” have been delivered to customers since the start of local production in China. Between 2020 to 2022, some 530,000 cars were sold to customers in the country.
