British luxury marque, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, has revealed the Amethyst Droptail, the second of four unique coachbuilt masterpiece just days after the debut of La Rose Noire Droptail at the Monterey Car Week.

The Amethyst Droptail was unveiled to the commissioning client, their family and friends at a private event in Gstaad, Switzerland – a region of particular significance for the patron.





Although, both La Rose Noire Droptail and Amethyst Droptail share a common body style, each comes with the unique, highly personal imprint of the commissioning patron.

Here are some of their unique features

La Rose Noire Droptail — Inspired by the allure of the Black Baccara rose, a velvet-like flower that originates in France and is beloved by the mother of the commissioning family.

Amethyst Droptail — Inspired by the amethyst gem – the birthstone of the clients son and an enduring symbol of purity, clarity and resilience.

Color :





La Rose Noire Droptail — a deep Red that covers the bonnet and roof.

Amethyst Droptail — a deep Purple color called Globe Amaranth that covers the bonnet and roof.

Timepiece at the front of the cabin :

La Rose Noire Droptail — One-off timepiece by Audemars Piguet, which was specially commissioned by the client. The 43mm Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date is powered by a unique self-winding Calibre 4407 movement.

Amethyst Droptail — A unique timepiece, named ‘Les Cabinotiers Armillary Tourbillon,’ commissioned by the client from the renowned Swiss haute horlogerie maison, Vacheron Constantin.

Wood

La Rose Noire Droptail — uses Black Sycamore wood from France.

Amethyst Droptail — uses Calamander Light open-pore wood provided by the client.

Price :

Rolls-Royce will likely never reveal how much each of its four Droptail Coachbuilts cost its ‘clients’, but both cars are estimated to be worth around $30 million, making the Droptail series the most expensive new car.
