2024 GAC GS8, A Chinese SUV Designed By Ex-Mercedes Designer : Features, Price In Nigeria

GAC GS8 was voted the “Most Fascinating SUV Of The Year” the 2023 Nigeria Auto Journalists Association Awards.

Known as Trumpchi GS8 in the Chinese market, the GS8 is marketed in Nigeria by GAC Motors Nigeria (CIG Motors).

GS8 is designed to take on Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and Fortuner as well as Hyundai Palisade in the Global market.

The Nigerian-assembled 2024 GAC GS8 full-sized luxury SUV starts at Sixty Eight million Naira (₦68,000,000).

Last year, the flagship GAC GS8 ultra-luxury SUV, marketed in Nigeria by GAC Motors Nigeria (CIG Motors), was voted the “Most Fascinating SUV Of The Year” at the yearly Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) Awards.

Designed by former Mercedes-Benz designer Fan Zhang, the award-winning GAC model was first unveiled at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show.

Known as the Trumpchi GS8 in the Chinese market, the GS8 a full-size luxury SUV designed to take on popular Toyota models like the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and Fortuner as well as Hyundai Palisade in the Global market.

GAC flagship 2024 GS8 ultra-luxury SUV, now in its second-generation, combines luxuries and performance to its tested off-roading qualities.

On the outside, the GS8 SUV boast a boxy design plus a big center grille that has the GAC’s signature ‘G’ emblems – allowing the big Chinese SUV to exude a powerful personality and presence on the road.

Inside, the 7-seater SUV comes with features like the 14.6-inch HD touch screen, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, four USB type-A ports and a wide array of driving assist capabilities.

It is also equipped with three-zone climate control air conditioning, wireless mobile phone charging, Bluetooth phone connectivity and a power sunroof with jam protection.

Safety features includes multiple airbags, Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Braking System, Stability Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Front & Rear Parking Sensors.

Powering the GAC GS8 is a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 201hp and 300nm. It is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox, four-wheel drive is optional.
