The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has disclosed it will arraign fourteen (14) of its personnel before a disciplinary panel over extortions and high handedness in line with the extant rules and regulations of the State.

In a statement by the Agency, the GM of LASTMA Mr. Bolaji Oreagba disclosed that “these 14 male Officers (11 Seniors & 3 Juniors) were caught at different locations across the State extorting money (bribes) from motorists”.





Oreagba however, warned the motoring public to stop inducing traffic personnel with bribes in order to avoid been prosecuted as the law frowned on both the ‘giver and the receiver’.

The Chairman of the Committee on Senate Services, Sunday Karimi has revealed that the Senate settled for Toyota Land Cruiser against a locally-made ones after a comparative of analysis of cost, durability, maintenance and Nigeria roads.

Karimi made this known to reporters in Abuja on Tuesday while responding to criticism over the planned purchase of official vehicles worth N160 million each, adding that members of the other arms of government use similar vehicles.

“We want something that we can maintain for another four years. It is not the decisions of the senators alone, we did an analysis before arriving at Land cruiser,” he said.

The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday October 24th 2023 formally opened the LASG-CIG Motors-owned GAC Motors vehicle assembly plant located at Plot 38A, Wemco Road, Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos.





The official opening of the ultra-modern vehicle plant coincided with the completion ceremony of the first 2,000 vehicles assembled by GAC Motors in Lagos.

In a statement posted on his official X handle, Sanwo-Olu said that the partnership between Lagos State and CIG Motors represents a pivotal step towards greater industrialization, more jobs, and technical training for our people.

Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has impounded over 100 private and commercial vehicles operating illegal parking and garages on bridges across the State.

The enforcement operations was carried out following the expiration of a 7-day ‘Vacation Order’ issued (Monday, 16th of October, 2023) to motorists/commercial bus drivers to vacate all illegal parking/garages on top bridges.

In a statement, the Special Adviser to Sanwo-Olu on Transportation Hon. Sola Giwa disclosed that the exercise was aimed to totally remove every infractions impeding the free flow of traffic on bridges. He also revealed that all the impounded vehicles would be charged immediately to the Lagos State Mobile Court for prosecutions.
