LASG and CIG Motors celebrates a production milestone as the 2,000th car rolls off GAC Motors assembly line in Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu attended the completion ceremony of the first 2,000 cars assembled by GAC Motors on Tuesday, Oct. 24th.
LASG in March 2021 formally sealed a Joint Venture Agreement with CIG Motors for the establishment of a Vehicle Assembly Plant.
Currently producing 4 GAC models cars – GA4, GS3, GS4 and GS8, the assembly plants is designed in 3 phases to respond to market demands.
The Lagos State Government and CIG Motors Company Limited are celebrating a production milestone as the 2,000th vehicle rolls off GAC Motors assembly line at Plot 38A, Wemco Road, Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos.
Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu attended the completion ceremony of the first 2,000 cars assembled by GAC Motors in Lagos on Tuesday, October 24th, 2023.
Recall that the Lagos State Government had in March 2021 formally sealed a Joint Venture Agreement with CIG Motors Company Limited for the establishment of a Vehicle Assembly Plant in the State.
The factory is built to GAC Completely Knocked DOWN (CKD) factory standards and can match the current dismantled CKD assembly and forward assembly methods. The fully automated production workshop consists of 3 lines – The Trim line, The Chassis line and the Final line.
Currently producing 4 GAC models cars – GA4, GS3, GS4 and GS8, the assembly plants is designed in 3 phases to respond to market demands. The initial annual production capacity is 5,000 units per year while the medium production capacity is 20,000 units per year. Full-load production capacity is expected to churn out 50,000 vehicles annually.
