Paris Olympics: German Cycling Federation lends a bicycle to Nigerian cyclist, Ese Lovina Ukpeseraye.
The Nigerian cyclist said she had no bicycle to race with due to the short notice of competing at the keirin & Sprint.


Nigerian road and track cyclist, Ese Lovina Ukpeseraye, has narrated how she was lend a bike by German Cycling Federation after a shock selection to compete in the road race at the ongoing Summer Olympics in France.
“Due to the short notice of me competing at the keirin & Sprint, #teamNigeria I had no bicycle to race with on the tracks,” Ukpeseraye said in a post via her X handle on Thursday.
Luckily for the 25 year old Nigerian athlete, German Cycling Federation, Bund Deutscher Radfahrer (BDR), stepped in by offering her a bicycle to compete.
“In d spirit of sportsmanship the German team @bunddeutscherradfahr came to my rescue by offering me a bicycle.
Thank you???,” she added.


Ukpeseraye, who has won multiple gold medals at the African track cycling championships, made history as the first Nigerian cyclist to represent the country at the Olympic Games.
