Mercedes-Benz Group Sold 594,600 Cars And Vans In The Third Quarter - autojosh

Mercedes-Benz Group sold 594,600 cars and vans in the third quarter and 1,763,200 between January and September 2024.

In Q3, sales of Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars reached 503,600 units while Mercedes-Benz Vans global sales reached 91,100 units.

Sales of Top-End vehicles reached 61,800 units (-12%) in Q3 – which it said was affected by sales of S-Class family vehicles in China.

Mercedes-Benz Vans sales in Q3 includes 78,400 units (-9%) of commercial vans and 12,700 units (-26%) of private vans.





Mercedes-Benz Group sold 594,600 cars and vans in the third quarter and 1,763,200 between January and September 2024 — which are respectively -1 percent and -5 percent decline compared to units sold in the corresponding year.

Sales of Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars rose 1% in the third quarter to 503,600 units and remained on last years’ level while Plug-in-Hybrids sales increased globally by 10% – mainly driven by the U.S. market.

“Mercedes-Benz sold more than 500,000 cars from July to September, a slight increase compared with the second quarter and in line with the prior-year period. Offering desirable products is the best way to forge ahead as consumer demand softens in some important markets,” said Britta Seeger, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Sales of Top-End vehicles, which includes Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach, G-Class, S-Class, GLS and EQS, reached 61,800 units (-12 percent) in Q3 – which it said was affected by sales of S-Class family vehicles in China.

Sales of the G-Class (excluding the Electric variant) rose 2% on the quarter. First deliveries of the new electric G-Class started in September while Mercedes-Maybach presented its sportiest model, the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series, in August.

In Q3 2024, Mercedes-Benz Vans global sales reached 91,100 units, which is -12 percent quarter-on-quarter and 13 percent below Q3 previous year. The sales includes 78,400 units (-9%) of commercial vans and 12,700 units (-26%) of private vans.
