LASG : ANPR Cameras Captured 470,000 Violations, Vehicle Inspection Service Issued 1 Million Roadworthiness Certificates
The Lagos State Government has revealed that over 470,000 traffic violations were detected in the last 12 months by the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras deployed to enforce traffic regulations, monitor vehicles, and potentially help with traffic management.
This was disclosed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, during the 2025 Ministerial Press Briefing, held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa – Ikeja on Tuesday April 22nd 2025.
Speaking further at the 2025 Ministerial Press Briefing, Osiyemi, also disclosed that the Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) issued over one million roadworthiness certificates, while the Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI) trained more than 32,000 drivers.
Additionally, Osiyemi also mentioned that the Lagos State Transport Management Authority (LASTMA) has trained over 800 personnel, evacuated over 100 broken-down vehicles, and revived its school safety advocacy programme across 59 schools.

This major transportation milestone was disclosed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, during the Year 2025 Ministerial Press Briefing held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa.
The event marked the second anniversary of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second term, showcasing major strides in the transport sector under the THEMES Plus Agenda.
On rail developments, Osiyemi noted that Phase 2 of the Blue Line (Mile 2 to Okokomaiko) is in progress, adding that Phase 1 of the Red Line (Agbado to Oyingbo) is now operational with eight stations while Phase 2 (Oyingbo to link Blue Line at National Theatre) is underway.
LASTMA Evacuated 6,580 Broken-down Vehicles Between January 2023 And March 2025 – See The Analysis
Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) evacuated over 100 (108) broken-down vehicles across the State in 10 months between May 2024 and March 2025 and 6,580 broken-down vehicles between January 2023 and March 2025.
This data was shared on the official social media platforms of the Lagos State Government, including its Facebook page, as part of activities to mark the second anniversary of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second term.
Of the 6,580 broken-down vehicles recovered between January 2023 and March 2025, LASTMA data shows that 3,821 vehicles were involved in road crashes.
Earlier this year, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority said it attended to 2,051 road traffic incidents between January and December of 2024 that involved an astonishing 3,754 vehicles.
