Mazda Gives The Electric 6e An Improvement For 2027

A range of new electric cars are coming with longer range and fast-charging technology. Mazda has also reacted because it is important to remain competitive.

For the 2027 model year, the Mazda 6e electric sedan will get a larger LFP battery, increased range, and more charging capacity. The range is increased to 560 kilometers, and the charging speed increases to 200 kW. Mazda will now use a new 78 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery. As far as the range is concerned, the earlier LFP battery allowed a range of 479 km, and with the NMC battery the Mazda 6e could travel 552 km according to WLTP measurements. The most important innovation is a serious increase in the charging speed, because the NMC battery had a speed of only 95 kW.

Mazda has redesigned other parts of the vehicle as well. Revised springs and dampers are intended to improve comfort, while a new electric power steering should make steering more precise.

Mazda also revises the operation of the 14.6-inch touchscreen and expands the voice control system. Driver assistance systems also get an update.

The novelty is the so-called Pet Comfort Mode, which maintains the interior temperature in the cabin when the driver leaves the car. Of course, if he chooses that option.
