Akwa Ibom State Becomes Automaker, Massive Factory Almost Completed (Photos)
Akwa Ibom State becomes automaker, its massive manufacturing and assembling factory is almost completed.
The reason behind this massive project is that it will generate job opportunities and wealth for our people.
The oil-rich state already owns an airline, Ibom Air.

The last part of equipments for the completion of Akwa Ibom State car manufacturing plant has arrived at the massive site as the oil rich state moves closer to becoming an automaker.
As shared recently by the Governor of the State on facebook, a good part of the reason behind this massive project is that it will generate job opportunities and wealth for our people.



Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel also disclosed the project will soon be ready for commissioning.
“We performed the groundbreaking ceremony of this Car Manufacturing and Assembling Factory few years ago because we believed that it will play a major role in generating job opportunities and wealth for our people”

“I am glad that the last set of equipment for the completion of the factory have just arrived and with this our vision in the transportation industry is gradually being realised”
“We are hopeful that with God on our side, this project will soon be ready for commissioning”
With this development, Akwa Ibom State joins a growing list of auto manufacturers in Nigeria.


Local automakers in the country already includes Innoson Vehicle Manufacturers (IVM); Obasa Specialty Vehicles (OSV); Proforce; NORD automobiles and Bennie Technologies.
Akwa Ibom already owns an airline, Ibom Air. Ibom Air is the first commercial airline to be owned and operated by a state government in Nigeria and Africa.
