Aston Martin Vantage And DBX707 Returns As Official F1 Safety And Medical Cars For 2024 Season
The Aston Martin Vantage returns as the Official FIA Safety Car of Formula 1 for the new 2024/25 Grand Prix season.
Vantage joins the DBX707 – the world’s most powerful luxury SUV – on the grid as the Official FIA Medical Car of Formula 1.
Both cars are finished in the same ‘Aston Martin Racing Green’ as the single-seater Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team AMR24 cars.

A specially equipped versions of Aston Martin’s high-performance Vantage and DBX707 returned to this seasons Formula One, with the duo still taking the joint role of Safety Cars and Medical Cars respectively.
The Aston Vantage Safety Car and the DBX707 Medical Car made their 2024 debut at this weekend’s Formula One STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX, held between 7th and 9th March.
As in previous years, the two high-performance cars are finished in the same ‘Aston Martin Racing Green’ as the single-seater Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team AMR24 cars that will race alongside other 19 F1 cars.
Vantage

This is the fourth race season that a specially equipped Aston Martin Vantage is playing the role of official Safety Car after first arriving on the grid in 2021.
The Vantage FIA Safety Car, set to be driven by the vastly-experienced Bernd Maylander, is fitted with switchgear along with screens showing live lap times, the track positioning of all of the cars and a rear-view camera.

Power comes from a hand-built 4.0 twin-turbo V8 engine that takes it to 0-60 mph (0-100 kmp) in 3.5 seconds, allowing the Vantage to lead a pack of 20 F1 cars at sufficient speed.
“It is a pleasure to drive the Aston Martin Vantage, commented Bernd Mayländer, FIA Safety Car Driver, adding that :
“We need a car that is fast and focused so we can respond quickly and safely when we receive the call for on-track deployment and Vantage provides that.”
DBX707

The award-winning high-performance DBX707 on the other hand made its debut last year as the new Official FIA Medical Car of Formula 1, replacing the standard DBX SUV.
Fitted with FIA-approved racing seats, the Aston Martin DBX707 SUV is fully equipped with medical kits, including large medical bag, defibrillator and two fire extinguishers.
Still powering the DBX707 Medical Car is an uprated 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged engine, which allows the world’s most powerful luxury SUV go from zero to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds, before topping out at 193 mph.
