Bentley’s First-Ever Electric SUV Officially Named ‘Torcal’ Ahead of September 23 Debut

Bentley Motors’ first-ever battery-electric SUV to be called ‘Torcal’, set to debut on September 23 2026.
Set to join the Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga as the fourth standalone model in Bentley’s modern lineup.
Bentley Motors has officially announced that its long-awaited first ever battery-electric SUV will be called ‘Torcal’, a name it said is inspired by remarkable natural landmark in Spain called the El Torcal de Antequera.
The British luxury marque also confirmed that the all-new will make its global debut in London on September 23, 2026, joining the Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga as the fourth standalone model in Bentley’s modern lineup.
“Our new Torcal sets extraordinary benchmarks in every area that matters, and may just be the most considered car in our history,” Bentley’s Chairman and CEO, Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser said of the brand’s upcoming model.
Bentley is yet to reveal pricing and performance figures, but it did say that more updates on the Bentley Torcal will be revealed in the coming weeks in the build up to the 23 September—which is just 7 seven weeks from now.
Walliser had earlier dubbed the brand’s first fully electric Bentley as the world’s first true Luxury Urban SUV, claiming the then-unnamed model will offer industry-leading charging speeds, from 0 to 100 miles (161km) in just seven minutes.
The Torcal is expected to ride on the Volkswagen Group’s cutting-edge Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture used in the new Porsche Cayenne Electric and the Audi A6 E-Tron.
“The word Torcal is also derived from the latin “torquere”, meaning to twist, and is the root from which the modern word torque also traces its foundation. Torcal therefore also implies effortless progression, another hallmark of every Bentley from across the last 107 years,” Bentley said in a statement.
