Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday September 4th 2023 flagged off the commercial operations of the first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line (Marina – Mile 2).

The Governor, who was the first passenger at the iconic Marina Station of the Blue Line Rail, served as the Head of the Train Operations during the first commercial operations of the Blue Line rail from the Marina Station to Mile 2.





The ride from the Marina Terminal to Mile 2 took about 25 minutes, with a 90-second stoppage at each of the five stations before the final destination.

The Lagos State Government has once again urged truck drivers to be aware of the height restriction barriers (truck barriers) for articulated vehicles, installed at Stadium, Ojuelegba and Dorma long Bridges.

A statement signed by Engr. Abdulhafiz Toriola, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation revealed that trucks still run into them, damaging the facilities, despite the fact that signages have been mounted to alert truck drivers of their presence.

The barriers were mounted along the route following a series of stakeholders’ meetings held to forestall incessant articulated vehicle accidents that have claimed lives and property.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abuja Zonal Command, has handed over property recovered from a convicted fraudster, Aisosa Kelvin Ohue, to the American victim, Cheryldene Cook.





The property, which include the sum of N19,000,000,000 (Nineteen Million Naira), a Lexus ES 350 sedan, an iPhone 13 Pro Max and a Samsung A31 phone were presented to the victim in Abuja on Thursday.

Cheryldene Cook, who flew in from the United States of America, also received three bedroom semi-detached duplex at Ward 36A Amagba Community in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.

The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has commenced an investigation into the activities of officials of the Transport Operations and Compliance Unit (TOCU) who were accused of extorting owners of abandoned vehicles found impeding traffic.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Engr. Abdulhafiz Toriola, in a statement assures the general public that such actions do not represent the ethical standards of the Ministry.

He stressed that the primary goal of TOCU is to ensure the smooth flow of traffic, promote road safety and enforce compliance with relevant transportation regulations.
