Dodge Charger Enters Europe As It Fails In The US
Given that Dodge only sold 1,672 ICE-powered versions in the first quarter of 2026, Americans have largely abandoned the new Charger. In the first quarter of 2023, the brand sold 33,499 Chargers and Challengers to put it into context.
Although that is a startling drop, the lineup is gradually expanding, and SRT versions will soon be available. Additionally, the carmaker hopes to grow sales in Europe, which will start in the near future.
The Charger is coming to Europe as “one of the finest embodiments of American automotive culture”, according to Stellantis, which isn’t saying much at this time. The Euro-spec model will adopt a “multi-energy approach” and be available in Daytona and Sixpack variants, they continued.
The Charger R/T’s 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six twin-turbo engine produces 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque; more information will be available soon. It allows the model to run a quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96 km/h) in 4.6 seconds.
The enhanced engine of the mid-level Scat Pack produces 550 horsepower and 531 lb-ft. This reduces the quarter-mile pace to 12.2 seconds and the 0-60 mph time to 3.9 seconds.
The Charger Daytona Scat Pack is the final option. Its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, which generates 670 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, is powered by a 100.5 kWh battery. The quarter-mile is completed in 11.5 seconds, while 60 mph is reached in 3.3 seconds. You will, however, have to put up with a rather small EPA range of 267 miles (430 km).
The 2027 Charger lineup, which has a NACS port on the EV and 25 new customisation options, was just released by Dodge. Highlights include a variety of external stripes, Demonic Red seat belts, and Petrol Blue leather sport seats.
“Bringing Charger back to Europe is a big moment for the company,” stated Fabio Catone, head of Dodge Europe. It entails reintroducing to consumers a distinctively American brand that emphasises authenticity and character.
