Here are 9 things you should know about the chauffeur-driven, high-riding 2024 Toyota Century SUV.
Earlier today, Toyota Motor Corporation launched a new four-door luxury model it simply called the Toyota Century. Order books are open now in Japan, though the first-ever Century-branded SUV will be sold in a number of international markets.
Here are 9 things you should know about the 2024 Toyota Century SUV.
Dimension
It measures 5,205 mm (204.9 inches) long, 1,990 mm (78.3 inches) wide, and 1,805 mm (71.1 inches) tall and has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm (116.1 inches).
Platform
The high-riding Century SUV is based on Toyota’s modular TNGA-K architecture shared with the Lexus TX and RX.

Variants
Two model variants of the Toyota Century SUV will be offered : a standard model and a sporty-looking high-performance GR-badged version. A Convertible version will join in the nearest future.
Performance-focused GRMN trim
While the SUV is designed to be chauffeur-driven, the performance-focused GRMN trim will allow owners to get behind the wheel.
Toyota’s Chief Branding Officer Simon Humphries said: “If you want to drive the vehicle yourself for the weekend, the GRMN will certainly not disappoint”.

Optional Door
While the base Century SUV has a conventional rear doors that open to a wide 75-degree angle, the sportier GR model comes with a rear-hinged doors that slide back and out, like a minivan for CEOs.
Powertrain
Century SUV comes fitted with a 3.5-liter V6 plug-in hybrid powertrain, producing 406 hp. The power is transmitted to all four wheels via an e-CVT gearbox and the E-Four Advanced AWD system.
Price
Toyota will sell the Century SUV, which starts at ¥25,000,000 ($169,580), alongside the chauffeur-driven luxury sedan model in Japan.
Rivals
Century is designed to compete with Western-made luxury models like Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga in the Japanese market. Both are priced from $350,000 and $339,000 respectively.
Delivery
Toyota Motors Corporation has already opened order books today for the Century SUV and the first deliveries are expected in Japan within 2023.
The first-ever Century-branded SUV will also be sold in a number of international markets.
