Indian Billionaire Ditches Chauffeur-driven Cars For Public Train Ride To Beat Mumbai’s Notorious Traffic
Indian billionaire Niranjan Hiranandani opted for a public train ride to beat Mumbai City’s notorious traffic.
Hiranandani ditched his chauffeur-driven limousine for a 30-minutes insightful journey from Mumbai to Ulhasnagar.
73 year old real estate magnate worth $1.5b as of 2024 is the co-founder and managing director of Hiranandani Group.

Indian billionaire businessman Niranjan Hiranandani recently surprised many after opting for a public train ride instead of chauffeur-driven limousine to save time and beat Mumbai City’s notorious traffic.
The Mumbai-born 73 year old Real Estate magnate worth US$1.5 billion as of 2024 (Forbes) is the co-founder and managing director of Hiranandani Group.

Sharing his insightful journey from Mumbai to Ulhasnagar in a video on his Instagram page, he explained that his decision for the 30-minute ride was to save time and beat traffic.
“Saving time and beating traffic with the city’s lifeline, a journey from Mumbai to Ulhasnagar in an AC coach was an insightful personal experience.”

In the video shared, Hiranandani and members of his team can be seen boarding the train alongside other passengers. During the 30-
minute ride, he was also seen shaking hands with fellow commuters.
As expected, some netizens praised him for using public transport despite his status while others questioned his choice of the Air Conditioned coach. A user even joked he traveled during the non-peak hours, when few passengers are travelling.
