Koenigsegg unsurprisingly used another Regera to chase Regera during its 0-249-0 mph world record run.

“To catch a Regera – use a Regera. This is how we filmed the World Record”, says Koenigsegg.

Regera fitted with new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres completed the 0-249-0 mph run in a 28.81 secs.

It bettered Rimac Nevera’s time of 29.94 seconds which the all-electric hypercar set last month.

Last week, Koenigsegg took its 1,500-horsepower Regera to the Orebro Airport Runway near the Swedish capital of Stockholm to reclaim its crown from the Rimac Nevera Electric hypercar.

The Regera fitted with new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres managed to complete the 0-249-0 mph (0-400-0 km/h) run in a blistering 28.81 seconds, bettering Rimac Nevera’s time of 29.94 seconds set last month.

But how did Swedish sports carmaker film the record run to catch up with the record-breaking Regera?

To film the Regera record run, Koenigsegg unsurprisingly employed the services of another Regera since a really fast camera car is needed to chase down racing supercar.

“To catch a Regera – use a Regera. This is how we filmed the World Record”, says Koenigsegg in the video caption posted to its social media platforms.

Like all high-speed chase camera cars, the Regera that filmed the record run has custom-built tubular framework welded to its chassis to accommodate camera system.

“This specific record is one that means a lot to Koenigsegg as it’s a record that covers every aspect of extreme performance”, said Koenigsegg boss, Christian von Koenigsegg.

“The fact that the Regera can still surprise and amaze the automotive world after all this time is a testament not only to its timeless design, but to engineering and technology that was way ahead of the curve.

“It’s something that makes me extremely proud, and as the Jesko customer cars are being delivered, we can’t wait to show you what’s next”.
