Lagos Blue Line Rail System makes 350+ trips, ferries over 75,000 passengers since commencement of train services a month ago.

Sanwo-Olu had on Sept 4th flagged off the commercial operations of the LRMT Blue Line (Marina – Mile 2).

The Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line system has now made over 350 trips and ferried over 75,000 Passengers across its routes since the commencement of train services exactly a month ago.





Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu had on Monday September 4th 2023 flagged off the commercial operations of the first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line (Marina – Mile 2).

While celebrating this accident-free milestone, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was the first passenger at the iconic Marina Station of the Blue Line Rail, said :

“Dear Lagosians, the #BlueLineRail system commenced it’s commercial service exactly 1 month ago. Today after over 350 trips, with Zero incident, we have moved over 75,000 people from their homes, to their schools, workplaces, businesses and back home to their families and loved ones”, Sanwo-Olu said in a video transcript shared by Jubril Gawat, Senior Special Assistant on News Media to the Governor.

“With over 3.8Million Cowry cards collected so far… We are proud to say a Greater Lagos is indeed rising. Join us as we plan to increase the frequency of the trains and to move more people through our city in a safer, faster, efficient and more affordable way.”

Autojosh recently shared a footage (video above) showing commuters rushing to get a seat or at least a spot to stand in the newly commissioned 800-Passenger Lagos Blue Line Rail electric train during the evening rush hour.
