‎The General Manager of LASPA, Mrs Adebisi Adelabu, who gave the warning during a recent chat with the press, notes that some of the road signages installed by the agency are being vandalised.

She noted that chapter 17, section 35 of the Criminal Law Code of Nigeria, states that :

“Unlawful interference with property, Any person who unlawfully disconnects, removes, tampers, meddles with or in any manner interferes with the use of any private or public property commits a felony and is liable on conviction to imprisonment for three (3) years”

According to her : “Vandalism of parking signage poses a threat to public safety, disrupts the smooth flow of traffic, and creates inconvenience for motorists seeking parking spaces.”

“LASPA condemns, in the strongest terms, the destruction of the State Parking signages and would not hesitate to take necessary legal measures to ensure perpetrators are brought to book”.

Reiterating the commitment of LASPA to improving the state’s parking infrastructure, Adelabu called on members of the public to take responsibility for public infrastructure in their areas.
