Lucid Motors Recorded Fantastic Q2 Deliveries Of Its EVs

It may not sound as much, but Lucid Motors is a small startup by car company standards and only deals in premium vehicles, so 2,394 shipments in one quarter is a pretty good milestone for Lucid.
Part of the reason is perhaps the massive price cut for the Lucid Air. The start price of the car was touching $100,000 not that long ago, but Lucid slashed it to $69,900 in an attempt to boost sales and capture different buyer categories. And it apparently worked, despite the slight slowdown in the EV industry right now.
Company CEO Peter Rawlinson said this is the first time Lucid has gained actual momentum with sales; it’s compounding efficiency advantages and drawing corporate partners as well.
Looking ahead, Lucid’s CEO feels optimistic about the company’s future with the upcoming Gravity SUV, which is due to be released by the end of this year. Since the US market loves SUVs, Lucid’s next vehicle might draw the attention of even more buyers than the sedan.
